As law firms wrestle with associate attrition and attorney burnout, even at the top, sharing power—bringing young lawyers into leadership sooner—could be a key component to combating those threats, particularly if the focus is on exposing younger attorneys to leadership and not just management.
Some analysts say law firms should be looking for more avenues to share the power, and responsibility, of leadership with younger attorneys to curb leadership fatigue, prep the next generation for what’s to come and to increase the active involvement of more junior personnel.
