New Jersey’s claims against Chevron for alleged groundwater contamination from MBTE have been dismissed in Multidistrict Litigation in the Southern District of New York.
U.S. District Judge Shira A. Scheindlin granted Chevron’s motion for summary judgment because the plaintiffs did not specifically identify Chevron as liable for alleged damage at the Skyline Service Center trial site. Texas, Shell, and Citgo were named with respect to that site, but Chevron was named only in connection with two other sites, the judge said.
