Baker Botts will cut 50 staff firmwide on Oct. 15 due to a “fundamental workplace shift,” joining a number of other Am Law 200 firms in eliminating positions as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect firm business and operations.

In a written statement, the Am Law 200 firm said it notified the 50 office services and secretarial services staff on Wednesday that their positions would be eliminated next week. The cuts were first reported on by Above the Law.
