Silicon Valley Business Journal awarded Paul Davis the 2018 Bay Area Corporate Counsel Winner. Davis is general counsel and corporate secretary of Xperi, and previously served as general counsel at Tessera Technologies.

Elliot Gordon joined JAMS as mediator and arbitrator in Los Angeles. Previously, Gordon had an ADR practice and also served as in-house counsel.

Nixon Peabody promoted three attorneys to partner in California: Ellie Altshuler and Erik Birkeneder in Los Angeles and Alison Torbitt in San Francisco. Altshuler and Birkeneder focus on intellectual property counseling and Torbitt’s practice focuses on energy and environmental issues.

Boutique firm Russ August & Kabat brought on entertainment lawyers Stanton “Larry” Stein, Bennett Bigman and Ashley Yeargan. Also joining the firm is senior associate Diana Sanders. The firm is based in Los Angeles.
