Airbnb Inc.’s chief business affairs and legal officer Belinda Johnson has been elevated to chief operating officer, the company announced Thursday. Johnson, who Wired once called ”Airbnb’s Sheryl Sandberg,” will be the San Francisco-based company’s first COO.

Airbnb CEO and head of community Brian Chesky said in a statement that he chose Johnson for the role before the December holidays.
