SAN FRANCISCO — An early investor in Palantir Technologies Inc. has turned to Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom to defend accusations that he ripped off several of Palantir’s new business ideas and tried to patent them as his own.

Jack DiCanio, head of litigation at Skadden’s Palo Alto office, appeared in federal court filings Tuesday on behalf of investor Marc Abramowitz. DiCanio argued the suit against Abramowitz should be yanked out of state court in Santa Clara, where it was filed last month by Palantir’s attorneys at Boies, Schiller & Flexner.
