SAN FRANCISCO — When Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers partner Wen Hsieh took the stand Wednesday, he seemed to represent everything Ellen Pao was not.
He lived to serve the more senior partners of the Silicon Valley venture-capital firm, while she complained about having to perform support tasks. He reportedly spread himself thin helping other partners, while she was accused of not being a team player. And ultimately, Hsieh was promoted, while Pao was fired.
