In order to get a Riverside County jury to hand over a $36.5 million personal injury verdict last year, plaintiffs lawyer Brian Panish turned to technology.
Using animation programs, Panish, of Los Angeles firm Panish Shea & Boyle, was able to recreate the catastrophic big-rig crash that left his client paralyzed and in need of 24-hour medical care. Before trial, the defendants offered to settle for $250,000. The $36.5 million eventually awarded is believed to be the largest personal injury verdict in the county’s history.
