The Federal Trade Commission and other U.S. agencies must take a more “vigilant” approach when addressing emerging technologies instead of the “sit back” strategy they employed in previous decades, FTC Chair Lina Khan said Monday.

“This administration has been incredibly clear-eyed about the need to revisit outdated assumptions and theories and to update our policymaking paradigm based on the realities of how the world works today, learning from experiences over the last couple of decades,” Khan said at a Centre for Economic Policy Research event.
