Amazon.com was sued on Dec. 18 in California Superior Court for San Francisco County over alleged violations of California’s Prop 65, which requires business to provide consumer warnings for products that contain substances identified by the state as causing cancer or reproductive harm. The case, filed by attorneys Clifford A. Chanler and Steven Y. Chen, alleges that certain Amazon padded armrests and other vinyl upholstered components used for wheelchairs contain di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate, or DEHP. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is CGC-23-611125, Paul Wozniak Vs. Amazon.Com, Inc.
