John Eastman’s professional misconduct trial will restart next week after a state bar court judge said Thursday that she’s “not inclined” to grant the complete postponement Eastman is seeking.

After a three-hour remote hearing, Judge Yvette Roland did not rule immediately on Eastman’s request to abate the bar’s disciplinary proceedings after a Fulton County, Georgia, grand jury indicted him Monday on charges he conspired to gather a false set of former President Donald Trump presidential electors in 2020. But Roland appeared skeptical of Eastman’s argument that allowing the bar trial to continue would only aid prosecutors’ nine-count criminal case against him in Georgia.
