California’s judicial watchdog agency on Tuesday dismissed disciplinary proceedings against Orange County Superior Court Judge Michael Murray, finding prosecutors failed to make their case that the jurist committed prosecutorial misconduct before his time on the bench.

The Commission on Judicial Performance agreed with almost all the findings of a three-judge panel of special masters, which conducted a seven-day hearing in the case and concluded in a July decision that Murray’s actions when he was a deputy district attorney did not constitute conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice or improper action, findings needed to discipline the judge.
