A veteran Orange County judge has been publicly admonished by the Commission on Judicial Performance for misconduct in four civil cases over a three-year period.

Superior Court Judge Derek Hunt, who was appointed to the bench in 1997, “denied … parties a full right to be heard before making orders in their cases” in three of the cases and in a fourth he “made remarks reflecting poor demeanor and engaged in conduct that gave an appearance of bias,” the commission said in an admonishment order made public Tuesday.
