Melody Drummond Hansen has joined Baker & Hostetler’s San Francisco office as a partner in the firm’s intellectual property (IP) group, where she will lead the firm’s IP strategy for San Francisco and Silicon Valley. Drummond Hansen has experience litigating and advising both established technology leaders and emerging companies in diverse technology matters including patents, data security, trade secrets and copyright as well as helping clients overcome regulatory hurdles.

Her technology experience includes avionics, mobile telecommunications standards, streaming video, voice recognition, artificial intelligence and hydrogen, electric and autonomous vehicles. Drummond Hansen has represented clients in federal and state courts, in front of the U.S. International Trade Commission and the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, and in federal and state regulatory matters involving the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration and the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
