A Los Angeles federal judge—who declared a mistrial after the lead defense attorney said jurors saw her client shackled—said he no longer trusts anything the attorney says, issuing a written order that he sealed after widespread publicity.

U.S. District Judge Otis Wright II told assistant public defender Callie Glanton Steele when granting her mistrial request on May 18, “I am no longer able to dispassionately play this game anymore, because this is like fun and games, and I do believe that intentional misrepresentations are being made to the court.”
