Blank Rome has welcomed a corporate litigation partner from Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders to its Philadelphia office, Barak Bassman, who said he seeks to capitalize on the firm’s recent investments in its health care practice.

Bassman brings a client base of large hospitals and regional health systems, along with payment processing entities and similar “middle men” in the health care industry, he said in an interview Monday. Though it’s too early to say whether they will all join him at his new practice, Bassman said his clients retain him for representation in payment disputes, managed care contract negotiations and antitrust litigation.
