Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman has brought on a new appellate practice head, the former deputy legal affairs secretary for Gov. Gavin Newsom, based in San Francisco. It’s the second West Coast government hire this week for the firm, which also brought on a litigation partner from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles.

Daniel Bromberg began his government service in January 2019. He was previously a partner at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, where he was a founding member of the firm’s appellate practice, and before that at Jones Day.
