Rejecting a request by 15 law school deans, California’s Supreme Court will not make next week’s bar exam open book.

In a brief letter dated Oct. 1, Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye thanked the deans for sharing their concerns about artificial intelligence and proctors monitoring the test remotely, but said that “none of the jurisdictions administering the online exam next week have switched to an open book format.”
