A federal judge in Pennsylvania has refused to toss out a civil racketeering suit in which members of a carpenters union are accused of committing “multiple violent and intimidating acts” after being barred from working at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

On Monday, U.S. District Judge Nitza I. Quiñones Alejandro of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania issued a one-page order denying a motion to dismiss filed by defendants Metropolitan Regional Council of Carpenters (MRCC), Edward Coryell Sr., Edward Coryell Jr., J.R. Hocker, Richard Rivera, Ronald Curran, Kenyatta Bundy and John Does 1-10.
