The Pittsburgh legal community, which has suffered some setbacks due to a dip in energy work, is in the midst of what some have described as a “renaissance,” driving significant growth of out-of-town firms in the city due to health care, technology, finance and even energy matters.

In the last two weeks, Texas-based energy firm Burleson LLP has announced it would close and two firms with Ohio roots have picked up some of the pieces, with Frost Brown Todd entering the market with the hire of 10 former Burleson lawyers in Pittsburgh and Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease picking up two attorneys to grow its Pittsburgh office.
