Newly released emails show the NCAA collaborated with the Freeh Group in the lead-up to the release of the Freeh report, according to state officials involved in the dispute over the $60 million consent decree the athletic body levied against Penn State.

State Sen. Jake Corman, R-Centre, and state Treasurer Rob McCord argued that representatives of the National Collegiate Athletic Association communicated regularly with members of the Freeh Group. Emails attached to the motion filed Tuesday in Corman v. NCAA indicate that, as early as Nov. 30, 2011, the president of the NCAA had sought to speak with Louis J. Freeh, who headed the group.
