Elected and Appointed

Ronald J. Harper, a partner at Harper & Paul, was elected president of the Susan G. Komen Philadelphia board of directors.

Harper joined the Komen board as a member in 2004 for a six-year term, acting as secretary and then vice president.

Before returning to the board in 2013, he remained active as a community ambassador, fundraiser and activist for the organization’s educational outreach initiatives.

The Public Interest Law Center of Philadelphia elected Kenneth Racowski, of counsel at Wilson Elser, to its board of directors.

Patricia Luczak, an associate at White and Williams, also joined the board as the Philadelphia Bar Association‘s young lawyers division ex officio representative.

Chilton G. Goebel III and Marni J. Stahl were named partners with German Gallagher & Murtagh.

Goebel focuses his practice on medical liability, casualty litigation, products and premises liability.

Stahl’s practice focuses on workers’ compensation and casualty liability.


The 2014 Villanova Environmental Law Journal Blank Rome Symposium will explore the business and legal implications of advancing corporate social responsibility campaigns through social media under the eye of the public and green advertising regulation.

The symposium is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday in Room 101 of Villanova University School of Law.

There will be two panels: “The Rise of Social Media as a Forum for Social Change and the Challenges and Opportunities of Green Business and Social Media” and “Legal and Ethical Issues in Green Social Media.”

Adrian R. King returned to the practice of law with Christie, Pabarue and Young.

King focuses his practice on the defense and resolution of medical malpractice claims and other litigation-related matters.


The Legal will honor the Pennsylvania Litigation Departments of the Year in 2014 and is seeking submissions from firms throughout the state. Awards will be given for general litigation, as well as six specialty practice areas.
