Robert R. Watson Jr. presented "CASPA and the Public Prompt Pay Act" for members of the Associated Builders and Contractors‘ Eastern Pennsylvania chapter earlier this month.

The purpose of the seminar was to provide the basics of Pennsylvania’s public and private construction payment acts.

Watson is a shareholder in the construction law, litigation and municipal law practice areas at Eastburn and Gray.

Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young partner Alan R. Gedrich served as a panelist for "Due Diligence From a Compliance Perspective: What Issues Are Advisors Facing That Sub-Advisors Should Be Attentive to?" at the 15th annual Sub-Advised Funds Forum presented by Financial Research Associates last month in Boston.

The panel addressed key compliance and regulatory issues facing sub-advisers to mutual funds.

Gedrich is a partner in Stradley Ronon’s investment management group and counsels mutual funds, investment advisers, closed-end funds, unregistered investment funds, hedge funds, private equity funds and institutional investors in a wide range of regulatory, securities, transactional, corporate and compliance matters.


Business development and marketing expert Kimberly Alford Rice and marketing strategist Matt Smyers joined Jaffe PR‘s national PR team as strategic alliance partners.

Smyers is based in Richmond, Va., and Rice is based in Southern New Jersey.

Elected and Appointed

Daniel Dwyer, of counsel at Unruh, Turner, Burke & Frees, was appointed to the board of directors of the ARC Community Trust of Pennsylvania.

Dwyer also serves as the secretary to the board, as well as the chairman of its personnel and compensation committee.

Dwyer practices in the fields of commercial litigation and government contracting.

Stuart W. Davidson, a partner with Willig, Williams & Davidson, was appointed chair of the Pennsylvania Board of Law Examiners.

Davidson was appointed to the board in 2008 and has served as vice chair for the last three years.

Davidson’s legal career, spanning three decades, has included representation of labor unions and employee benefit plans.


Pepper Hamilton partner Charles S. Marion was honored by the American Bar Association with an Outstanding Subcommittee Chair Award for his work as chair of the ABA’s regional CLE subcommittee of the intellectual property litigation committee.

The ABA section of litigation honored Marion for his 2012-13 bar year leadership during an April 25 plenary session at the section’s annual conference in Chicago.

Marion is a commercial litigator and focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation, franchise litigation, securities litigation and products liability.
