Steven Haas, vice chair of Cozen O’Connor‘s corporate practice group, was appointed to the board of directors of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.
Haas was also appointed as advisory board chair to the Art & Business Council of Greater Philadelphia.
Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young partner Alan R. Gedrich moderated and participated in the panel, “Recent Regulatory Developments for Investment Advisors and What’s to Come for Investment Advisors,” hosted October 24 by the Chartered Financial Analysts Society of Philadelphia.
Gedrich, along with panelists from Foreside Financial Group and the Securities and Exchange Commission, discussed recent regulatory developments and how those developments impact SEC registered investment advisers.
Kevin B. Scott, chair of the public finance practice at Fox Rothschild, joined a panel for the discussion: “Organizational Ethics: Risk and Crisis Management Practices for Colleges and Universities.”
The panel was presented by the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce on December 3 at the Villanova University Conference Center.
Bernard M. Gross of the Law Offices of Bernard M. Gross was presented with the Benjamin F. Levy Community Service Award by the Louis D. Brandeis Law Society at the annual meeting November 27 at the Academy of Vocal Arts, 1920 Spruce St., Philadelphia.
The Alliance of Women Entrepreneurs presented the Iris Newman Award to Barbara Schilberg, managing director and chief executive officer of BioAdvance, at its annual gala November 13 at the World Cafe Live in Philadelphia.
Lorena E. Ahumada, an associate in the litigation department of Kleinbard Bell & Brecker, was selected by the Delaware Valley’s Most Influential Latinos Foundation as one of the Delaware Valley’s Most Influential Latinos award recipients.
Hill Wallack was recognized by the MIDJersey Chamber of Commerce as the Distinguished Corporation of the Year.
This honor will be celebrated at the chamber’s annual Hall of Fame Dinner set for April 17, 2013, at the Hyatt Regency Princeton. •
