Elected and Appointed

Michael C. Gross, a partner with Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox, was elected to serve on the board of directors for the Delaware Valley Smart Growth Alliance.

MGKF was a sponsor of the DVSGA’s Fall Forum, “American Dream or American Nightmare: Housing After the Great Recession,” on November 8 in Philadelphia.

Denis J. Lawler of Blank Rome became a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and was inducted during the annual meeting of the college in New York.

Lawler is based in the firm’s Philadelphia office and is a member of the commercial litigation group.


Bernard “Buz” Eizen, a shareholder at Flaster Greenberg, was an author in the book, Inside the Minds: Family and Business Succession Planning, 2013 edition, published by Aspatore Books, a Thomson Reuters business. The book was scheduled to be released November 1.

Eizen’s chapter is titled “Understanding the Succession Planning Goals of Family Business Owners.”


Joan Roediger, a partner with Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel, presented several lectures to medical residents in North Carolina.

Roediger’s presentations included:

• “Successful Job Searching and Interviewing Tools for Physicians” on October 16 at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

• “How to Find the Perfect Job and Negotiate Your (Ideal) Employment Agreement in a Changing Time” on October 17 at the University of North Carolina Hospitals, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine 2012 Conference and on October 18 and 19 at Duke University Medical Center.


Frank J. Udinson joined Martin Banks as an associate.

In addition to his work in private practice, Udinson also previously served as an assistant district attorney for the city of Philadelphia.


The Legal Marketing Association, Metropolitan Philadelphia chapter, is hosting an educational program, “The Year That Was 2012: An Insider’s View.”

Hank Grezlak, editor-in-chief and associate publisher of The Legal, will review the year that was 2012 in the legal market in Pennsylvania.

The program is set from noon to 1:30 p.m. ThurNovember 15sday at Flaster Greenberg, 1600 JFK Blvd., second floor, 4 Penn Center, Philadelphia.
