A Philadelphia-based group that supports a selection system for Pennsylvania judges issued a statement calling for stricter guidelines involving judicial recusal. The statement stems from the actions of a magisterial district judge who granted bail to former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky, indicted for 40 counts of child molestation.

Magisterial District Judge Leslie A. Dutchcot had donated to and volunteered for The Second Mile, a nonprofit Sandusky founded to mentor young boys and girls.
