U.S. District Judge Thomas M. Golden, a former partner at Stevens & Lee who left to form a small Berks County firm and serve as its managing partner for a quarter century, died on Saturday after a long battle with cancer. He was 62.

Golden was appointed to the federal bench by President George W. Bush in June 2006 and had served as the 109th president of the Pennsylvania Bar Association in 2003.
