A Philadelphia attorney has been ordered to pay more than $19,000 in sanctions by a federal judge for his disruptive conduct that derailed multiple depositions in a personal injury lawsuit.

U.S. District Judge Stephanie Haines of the Western District of Pennsylvania on Wednesday ordered attorney Thomas Bosworth to pay $19,713 within 30 days to the defendants in the lawsuit, McCartney v. Kids2. The money is intended to cover the cost of having several defense lawyers attend the combative depositions, which Haines said were rendered useless due to Bosworth’s ”disruptive and unprofessional conduct.”
