The Disciplinary Board of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court has begun to offer a break for attorneys who cannot afford to pay the annual fee required to practice law in the state.

In a Monday order, the justices approved the disciplinary board’s recommendation that lawyers be permitted to seek waivers to the attorney registration fee if they suffer from extreme financial hardship. The waivers also cover annual fees to the IOLTA Board and Pennsylvania Lawyers Fund for Client Security.
