Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani filed a lawsuit Tuesday in Pennsylvania Eastern District Court on behalf of Jinya Franchise alleging copyright, trademark and trade dress infringement. The complaint targets Hakata Inc., operator of Hakata Ramen, for allegedly mimicking the décor and furnishings of Jinya Ramen Bar restaurants, including incorporating mural art that resembles a copyrighted geisha painting for which Jinya also owns the trademark rights. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 2:21-cv-04467, Jinya Franchise, Inc. v. Hakata, Inc.
