Last summer, reporter Max Mitchell penned a four-part series examining the rise of civil litigation being brought on behalf of sex trafficking victims across the country and the attendant risks posed to both the plaintiffs in these cases and the lawyers representing them. Last week, the series won first place in the 2020 PBA Media Awards in the category of newspapers under 30,000 circulation. The contest is held through the Pennsylvania Bar Association.

In February, the series was also named as a finalist for the 2020 Jesse H. Neal Awards in the “Best Series” category.
