This year’s holidays have an undercurrent of profound sadness, with the unbearable horror of the Sandy Hook tragedy. I’m writing this at my cottage in rural Connecticut, and cannot even turn on the local news. I know I’m not alone in that reaction. There are no bright-line solutions to this madness, we all know that. But we simply have to start taking the steps, and there are many, to address this epidemic. In honoring the 26, let’s each take actions, large or small. Too many have been killed, too many families shattered senselessly.
