While patent infringement filings are down both nationally and in Texas according to a recent report, there’s still no question who the King of America’s patent docket is: U.S. District Judge Rodney Gilstrap of Marshall.

Patent infringement filings dropped across the country by 22 percent in 2016 from the previous year, and it was down by 34 percent in the Eastern District of Texas where Gilstrap sits, according to Lex Machina’s annual patent litigation year in review study.
