A Dallas jury began deliberating in late April, took a weekend break, and then returned May 2 to deliver a $10. 9 million verdict against the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma for its alleged role in a 2013 crash of a charter bus.

The crash led to the deaths of the two women, an 83- and 69-year-old, whose families and estates were the plaintiffs in Sewell v. Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, filed in the 193rd District Court. Teams led by Dallas lawyers Frank Branson and Spencer Browne represented the plaintiffs.
