Back when Robert Pitman was a junior at Fort Worth's Trinity Valley School, he was already a master of the courtroom. In 1979, Pitman participated in Youth and Government, a statewide YMCA program for high school and middle school students that provided hands-on experience about the state legislative and judicial processes. "I won the best prosecutor award in a district courtroom in Austin," says Pitman, now a U.S. magistrate judge in Austin.
