Wallace B. Jefferson, the former Texas Supreme Court chief justice, will face Lanora Pettit, the state’s most experienced appellate attorney for arguing cases before the high court, over a constitutional challenge to a law that singled out Harris County’s right to use an elections administrator.

Pettit, the principal deputy solicitor general for the Office of Attorney General, is tasked with arguing the state’s appeal of a trial court’s temporary injunction orders halting enforcement of Senate Bill 1750.
