Whirlpool and Maytag filed a trademark and patent infringement lawsuit Wednesday in Texas Eastern District Court. The lawsuit, brought by Gillam & Smith and Nyemaster Goode, targets Vankin Co. for allegedly selling water filters which infringe the plaintiffs’ Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air and Amana marks. The defendant is also accused of infringing six patents related to water filter systems. Attorneys have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 2:23-cv-00070, Whirlpool Properties, Inc. et al v. Vankin Company Limited.
