Joan R.M. Bullock, who was fired in June as the dean of Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law—she says without cause—has sued the university’s board of regents and several administrators, seeking a court order to reinstate her as a tenured faculty member.

Bullock alleges in a complaint filed on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas that the university has repeatedly refused to grant her a hearing to challenge the June 15 decision to terminate her as dean and as a tenured professor.
