Everytown Law, the legal arm of Everytown for Gun Safety, filed a complaint Friday morning asking the Federal Trade Commission to investigate a Georgia firearms manufacturer of marketing assault rifles to youths.

Everytown alleges Daniel Defense LLC, a privately held company in Black Creek, Georgia, is violating the FTC Act by marketing assault weapons with violent and militaristic imagery, “unfairly implying that civilians can use their weapons for offensive combat-like missions, and appealing particularly to the thrill-seeking and impulsive tendencies of susceptible teens and young men who are attracted to violence and military fantasies.”
