A global pesticide and agriculture company and an ex-employee have been indicted in Texas for the 2014 toxic chemical release at the DuPont Plant in La Porte that killed four workers and spurred litigation.

U.S. Attorney Ryan Patrick of the Southern District of Texas in Houston on Tuesday announced the indictment against former plant manager Kenneth Sandel of Friendswood and E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company Inc., which does business as Corteva Agriscience. It used to be affiliated with DuPont de Nemours Inc., the creator of Teflon nonstick pan coating and Tyvek fabric, but spun off into a separate company in 2019.
