The State Bar of Texas Board of Directors in Austin voted Sept. 25 to approve Sara E. Dysart of San Antonio and Laura Gibson of Houston as candidates for 2021-2022 president-elect. Dysart and Gibson will appear on the ballot in April 2021, along with any certified petition candidates. There are currently no additional president-elect candidates, although members have until March 1 to submit their nominating petitions to the State Bar for certification.

Dysart, a solo practitioner in San Antonio, is board certified in commercial real estate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She earned her J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1981. Dysart served on the State Bar Board of Directors, 2012-2015, and was co-chair of the State Bar Annual Meeting Committee in 2015. She has served on the St. Mary’s University School of Law Board of Visitors since 2016 and has been its chair since 2018. Dysart served on the San Antonio Bar Association Board of Directors from 2010-2012; on the Texas Bar College Board of Directors from 2019-2022; and has been a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers since 2011.
