The strange case of Michael Potere, a former Dentons associate accused of trying to extort $210,000 and artwork from the firm, has already resulted in a five-month prison sentence for the erstwhile Big Law attorney, who pleaded guilty last year to illegally accessing sensitive firm documents. Now, he’s also facing a disciplinary action in Illinois.

The Illinois Supreme Court Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission has lodged a formal complaint against Potere, who was licensed to practice law in the state in 2012. The commission alleged Potere violated professional conduct rules by committing a crime and engaging in conduct that involved “dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation,” according to the complaint.
