Six years ago, Jim Karger left the Texas firm he founded and a thriving labor practice because of stress, disillusionment over his own materialism and disappointment with some clients who did not heed his reform advice. He and his wife moved to San Miguel De Allende, Mexico, and founded Save a Mexican Mutt, a charity that rescues, rehabilitates and arranges the adoption of stray Mexican dogs. Karger also maintains a consulting practice helping businesses worldwide improve relations with their employees.
