Without admitting any wrongdoing, General Electric has agreed to pay $11.5 million to settle a suit brought by seven GE employees at a Kentucky plant who alleged the company sold defective turbine parts. The employees sued under the False Claims Act, which allows private citizens to sue on behalf of the federal government. The employees will receive about 20 percent, or $2.35 million, with the rest going to the government.
