Two members of Dewey & LeBoeuf's office of the chairman, Richard Shutran and Jeffrey Kessler, are set to decamp for other firms. Shutran, the cochair of the firm's corporate department (as well as chair of its global finance practice) is heading to O'Melveny & Myers with four other partners. And Winston & Strawn is taking on a team of more than 60 Dewey lawyers—23 of them partners—led by global litigation chair Jeffrey Kessler. 3rd Circuit Rules Lanham Act Doesn't Supersede Pennsylvania Law

Rejecting an argument that a Pennsylvania law is the exclusive remedy for addressing unfair insurance practices, the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that an insurer can use the federal Lanham Act to sue another insurer for false and misleading advertising. The court also upheld an injunction ordering UPMC Health Plan Inc. to stop running ads that included false criticisms of rival insurer Highmark Inc.'s policies.
