Ex-BellSouth GC Faces Domestic Violence Hearing

One month after he was arrested for allegedly beating his wife so badly she went to a hospital emergency room, former BellSouth GC Charles R. Morgan signed a full-page newspaper ad proclaiming he and other men "will not tolerate domestic violence." Morgan's tenure at BellSouth -- marked by a commitment to diversity and pro bono work -- ended abruptly July 12. Morgan's lawyer said the alleged incident with his wife "had some bearing" on the resignation.

The property, once the location of a half-mile harness racing track, contains 427,000 square feet of retail space, which is fully leased. Also, 216 E. 46th St. has been purchased for $60 million by 216 Watermark Holdings and non-profit HeartShare Human Services of New York has begun moving in to its new headquarters at 159-05 Union Turnpike in Fresh Meadows, Queens.

London Rivals Do Battle on Cell Phone Company's $508M Competition Claim

A clutch of London firms have landed roles advising on 3 Mobile's $508 million claim against four rival mobile phone operators, in one of the largest competition actions to hit the U.K. courts. Barlow Lyde & Gilbert is advising the company on its claim against rival operators O2, Vodafone and Orange, respectively advised by Ashurst, Herbert Smith and Field Fisher Waterhouse. T-Mobile was also named in the case -- which began in the Commercial Court on December 4 -- and is being advised by Bristows.
