The famously liberal recording artist sued John McCain and the Republican National Committee last summer for using his song without permission. (Why McCain's sputtering campaign chose to misappropriate a song called "Running on Empty" is beyond us.) On Tuesday, Browne settled. Terms weren't disclosed but McCain and the Republicans offered an abject apology.
