High Court to Review Georgia Parole Guidelines

In a case affecting 1,400 state prisoners and parole laws nationwide, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments on how Georgia considers parole for those sentenced to life. The high court's decision, announced Tuesday, means at least four of the nine justices voted to review a January decision by an Atlanta federal appeals panel that struck down a policy of the State Board of Pardons and Paroles, which extended the time between parole reviews for some life inmates.
