Federal Judge Puts Rite Aid Shareholder Settlement on Hold

A federal judge in Pennsylvania refused to approve a $193 million settlement in a class action shareholders' suit against Rite Aid Corp., finding its "bar order" is too broadly worded. But the judge suggested he will approve the settlement once the bar order is modified, saying the plaintiffs' counsel have "won the best possible settlement available under these very difficult circumstances."
