Delphi Weighs Bid for Motorola Unit

Delphi is considering closing U.S. factories and bidding on the automotive unit of Motorola in an effort to recast its electronics and safety division toward higher-margin products. According to an internal company memo first reported in The Detroit News, Delphi, which filed for Chapter 11 protection last month, is considering a dramatic overhaul. A Delphi spokesman said the leaked memo was a draft, and its information "is incomplete and does not necessarily reflect our current plan."
